Teens are encouraged to apply for great awards, events, and scholarships. Need some help? Come to the Teen Awards Kick-Off Night on Thursday December 6th at 7:00 p.m. at the Ankrom Building at the Pickaway Co Fairgrounds. We’ll start the night with a little fun and then pass out information that will help you decide what to apply for and understand what you need to do to apply. You must be 14 or older as of January 1, 2019 to apply. Parents are welcome to attend with you. Reservations are required no later than Monday, December 3rd by 7 pm, call 740-474-7534 or email Joy Sharp at sharp.5@osu.edu.

Opportunities include:  camp counselor, state 4-H achievement awards, 4-H ambassador, award trips to Washington D.C., Forestry Camp, or Leadership Camp, county and state scholarships and special county recognition.  These opportunities have been known to lead to many different, unexpected possibilities down the road.
  
Where do you start?? First, understand all awards and opportunities; note important dates and deadlines; and know what is needed to apply.  Second, secure necessary forms/applications from the Extension office or download them from the Teen Opportunities page.  Third, carefully and neatly fill out and submit application forms to the Extension Office by January 22, 2019 unless a different date is noted on the application form.  Contact the Extension Office if you have a question on when a form is due!
