Bob Parker, 4-H volunteer and member of the State 4-H Dog Committee will be conducting dog workouts every other Tuesday evening, beginning April 15, from 7-8 p.m., at the fairgrounds on top of the hill behind the horse barn. Any member with a dog project is welcome.
Important Dates for Pickaway County 4-H'ers
May 8 - Fashion Board meeting, 7:00 p.m., Pickaway County Service Center meeting room
May 13 -
, including demonstrations, illustrated talks and speeches, 6:00 p.m., at the Pickaway County Service Center meeting room. The 4-H Communications Contest (Public Speaking Contest) information has been updated because of information recently received from the state. Information previously posted stated that the time requirement for the health and safety skit is 4-8 minutes; however, the latest state information requires skits to be 5-8 minutes. May 15 - All dog registrations with certification of vaccination and permission to participate due at the Extension office
May 15 - Livestock Entries due at the Extension office. Be sure to provide complete information on these forms as they are used to organize our junior fair shows, establish housing needs and pen assignments during the fair and order appropriate junior fair awards. May 19 - Mandatory Market Rabbit Tattooing, Mandatory Turkey Pollorum Testing. See Fair News for more information.
May 19 - Mandatory pollorum testing for turkey projects, 5-7 p.m., Pickaway County Fairground Show Arena. See Fair News.
June 1 - Junior Fair King and Queen applications due to the Extension office. Click here for rules and application.

June 7 - Clothing Judging, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Circleville High School. The Style Review will be held that evening in the Circleville High School auditorium at 7:00 p.m. with the public welcome. Participation in the Style Review is required in order to be considered for county award placings. A judging schedule will be posted soon. |
June 11 - Pre-Judging for those unable to attend Skillathons or their fair judging time, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call for judging time in May.
June 15 - Fair Kick-Off Parade registrations due in office. Click here for form.

June 21-28, 2008 - Pickaway County Fair (Junior Fair moves in Sunday)
